2026 CPY Summer Retreat | July 16th-19th

Now, I know we all love the beach. Who doesn't? But I am excited to announce that we have found something even better that will fit our needs.

We are getting in on the ground floor of this newly renovated property. We have visited the camp in person and are very impressed with the facilities.

I will add a more concrete itinerary when we are about a month out from the retreat! 

Here are a few reasons for the change in venue and some activities to look forward to:

• We get the entire camp to ourselves (CrossPointe, MidTree, and Edgewood). The last venue was shared with other churches and guests, which limited what we could do with our activities.

• Our previous venue had a few shared activities with other churches, along with the beach, of course. This property will have many of the same activities such as basketball, gaga ball, volleyball, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool, but so much more. There is also a lake where you can swim, canoe, or fish. We will have a large private property for games like capture the flag or shaving cream fights. There are also hiking trails, private game rooms, obstacle courses, and an outdoor worship area.

• This property will be much more conducive to our goal of discipleship during the retreat. At our last venue, we were faced with a worship and teaching area that was much too small, and we also had to provide all of the AV equipment. Here, we will have a proper worship area available for us to use.

• I am especially excited for what this property will allow us to do with our small group time. Our last venue was shared with many other churches that operated on different schedules than ours, which created many distractions during our intentional small group discussions. Here, our groups will be able to spread out across the property and meet without those distractions.

• Finally, our previous camp was quite expensive at $350 per person. At Hargis Camp, we will have nicer facilities, beds, and bathrooms. The cost for this retreat will be $200 per student. As always, we never want cost to prevent a student from attending camp. If you need assistance, please reach out to me. We will gladly work with you to make sure your student can attend.

FAQ: 

-              Will my student be able to contact me if need be?

YES! We DO NOT confiscate cell phones but do ask students to not bring them outside of their sleeping quarters. We encourage students to part ways from social media and the outside world for these few days. However, they will be able to contact you at ANYTIME. 

-              What are the sleeping arrangements for girls and guys? 

Boy and girl students have separate sleeping quarters. Each room having a leader staying in the room as well. Someone of the opposite gender is completely forbidden to enter the opposing genders room. This will be HIGHLY monitored and enforced. 

-              Who are the leaders that will be staying with the students?

While we do not have the room assignments yet, the leaders will be our highly vetted CPY leaders. Each leader having background checks, sexual abuse training, and all that is required to serve in a children and student ministry. 

-              What are the clothing and swim wear requirements?

We encourage all students to dress modestly. For female students, we do not allow any 2 piece swim wear.
